1)

Meeting of the Executive Committee to approve and announce the Election Schedule by the Association:

1.                   Election schedule, and

2.             Appointment of the Election Commission, on the following conditions:

·          The Commission shall consist of 3 members.

·          Submission of their consent in writing.

·          They have not held any office in the Association for preceding two years;

·          They shall not be entitled to become candidate in the election, which they are conducting.

Display and submission of Election Schedule within 2 days of approval of the Executive Committee:

a)      Display of Election schedule at the Notice Boards of Head Office and Regional office of the Association;

b)      Display of Election Schedule at the Website; and

c)      Submit to the Director General, Trade Organizations.

3)

The member companies if desiring to change their representatives shall intimate the change (if any) to the Secretary General within 3 days of the announcement of Election Schedule.

4)

Display election schedule within 7 days, the provisional list of all members eligible to vote alongwith their NTN, Sales Tax Numbers, the name and NIC number of the representative. The list shall be displayed at;

d)      the notice boards of Head Office and regional offices; and

e)      the Website of the Association.

Objection (if any) by members to the entries in the list of voters shall send to the Secretary General in writing within 7 days of the release of Voters List.

Action and intimation by Secretary General on the objections within 5 days from the receipt of such objection.

Any person aggrieved by the decision of the Secretary General shall make representation within 3 days to the election commission.

Decision of election commission within 3 days on the cases referred to them.

Any person aggrieved by decision or failure of the Election Commission to decide may appeal to the Director General within 3 days.

Decision of Director General on such cases within 10 days.

Display of final list of voters within 2 days of the decision of Director General.

a)                  the notice boards of Head Office and regional offices;

b)                  the Website and

            c)         submit to the Director General.

Submission of nomination papers (duly proposed by the registered voter and signed) to the Secretary General within 4 days of display of final list of voters.

13)

Within 24 hours (one day) of receipt of nomination papers, a copy of the final list of voters shall be provided to each contesting candidate.

Display of the list of contesting candidates within 1 day (twenty four hours) from the last date of receipt of nomination papers.

15)

The objections on the list of contesting candidates shall be filed with the Election Commission within 24 hours (one day of issuance of the list of contesting candidates.

Decision of the Election Commission on such cases within 2 days.

Filing of appeal with the Director General within 2 days by the persons who are aggrieved by the decision of election commission or if it fails to decide such cases within the stipulated time.

Decision of the Director General within 7 days from the date of filing of appeal on such cases.

Within 2 days of the decision of the Director General the Election Commission shall issue the final list of contesting candidates.

If such case is not referred to the Election Commission or to the Director General, the final list of contesting candidates shall be issued within 11 days of approval of the Election Commission.

Polling for election of members of the Executive Committee within 5 days from the date of issuance of final list of contesting candidates.

Submission of nomination papers within 2 days from the date of polling by the members of the Executive Committee for election of Office Bearers (i.e., Chairman and Vice Chairman).

Scrutiny of nomination papers by the Election Commission and display of the list within 24 hours (1 day) of submission of nomination papers.

Polling for election of office bearers within 2 days from the date of issuance of final list of contesting candidates.

Annual General Meeting for;

a)                  announcement of election results;

b)                  approval of audited accounts;

c)                  appointment of auditors;

d)                  approval of plan of activities for the next year.

Display of final results within 2 days at:

a)                  notice board of the Head Office and Regional Offices;

b)                  Website of the Association.

Submission of election results within 7 days to the Director General, Trade Organizations.
